Charlotte's Web
Betsy and I had tickets for this afternoon to see Charlotte's Web, put on by the Roanoke Children's Theatre. They have their performances at the Art Museum so prior to the show, we went to see some of the new exhibits at the museum. Then the show, which was very good! Betsy has done some work with the show, so I got a picture of her with a couple of the actresses afterwards -
I came home and started making dinner when I heard a "POP" from my stove - and it just quit! We managed dinner by using the burner on the grill and the microwave.
So, now I have no stove, which has an oven with it, but fortunately I have another oven, a wall oven. I'll have to call the service people to come this week. You know that I have quite a history of appliances quitting, and you know that appliances die in 3's. I am proof of that.
So, here's the story in our household right now.
Stove/oven - not working
Ice maker - sluggish
mixer - not working
desktop computer - not workingNow, if we count the ice maker as probably on it's way to quitting, that's 3 appliances and the computer would be extra. Or we can count the computer as an appliance for our purposes here, and the ice maker as still working. Either way, we have some problems with our household modern conveniences! I'll keep y'all updated on their status'.
Do you suppose this means that we get to eat out or order in all week?????

All of our technology quit last week. This week it's your appliances. What's up with that?
I just bought Charlotte's Web to read to the boys at bedtime. I bet the play was pretty fun!
Yes! Let's see...Ukrops, Panera, Tokyo Express, Elderberrys, Red Robin...
@jamaicamecrazy08 - Sounds yummy to me! Maybe I shouldn't even call the serviceman. . .
Our stove heard that we had a tax refund coming and "up and died".
Sure was thankful for the refund to cover the new one!
Enjoyed the pics. You have such fun outings and trips.
Oh, my, I had no idea what was happening in your kitchen. Did this all happen in the last 10 days? This is a sweet post...smiles and all the fun from the play seem to have sweetened the "modern convenience" "POP"ing problem. Do you like receiving appliances for birthday, Christmas, etc.? I guess you can't wait that long, though!
I certainly hope the ice maker won't be ushering in another set of three!!!!! :-O
Love the pic of Betsy!
Well, Ok then. SO....my mixer quit a few weeks ago. (it was somewhere between 16 and 27 years old....not remembering if it was a wedding gift or if we bought it later.)
Last Sunday, my 15 MONTH old oven quit heating. Both elements. While we were baking a loaf of pumpkin bread. UGH.
I believe that I am hearing you say that I've got one more electric appliance to go?????? I hope it's my coffee maker and not my fridge, washer or dryer........
@ziggswife - I hope for your sake that my theory of 3's doesn't hold true! But for us, it has been true for 31 years! Do let me know!
Ooooh! Charlotte's Web sounds like soo much fun! Glad you got to enjoy it! ...as for the stove...Groan!
